Dr. Esam A. Al-Qaralleh is a Professor of Computer Engineering at the Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT), Jordan. He earned his Ph.D. in Electronics from the National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan, and a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Jordan.He has held several academic leadership roles, including Dean and Vice Dean of the King Abdullah II School of Engineering, and Chair of the Computer Engineering Department at PSUT. His leadership contributed to ABET accreditation, the establishment of the IoT Engineering program, and the advancement of PSUT’s engineering education quality.Dr. Al-Qaralleh’s research interests span embedded and intelligent systems, IoT applications, AI-driven video and image processing, and modern engineering education. His work has been published in reputable journals and conferences, focusing on areas such as video coding optimization, handwritten Arabic recognition, and AI-based smart systems.In teaching, he has designed and modernized numerous computer engineering courses, integrating project-based learning, design thinking, and hands-on experimentation to enhance student innovation and practical skills.He is also active in IEEE professional activities, having chaired technical committees and organized international conferences, and continues to promote innovation, collaboration, and excellence in engineering education and research."
