Prof. Mishiel Suwaidan

Dr. Mishiel Suwaidan is currently a professor of Accounting at Princess Sumaya University for Technology, which he joined in September 2025. He received his Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Aberdeen (UK) in 1997. Most of his academic career has been at Yarmouk University, where he held several senior roles, including Dean of the Faculty of Business. He also served as Vice President of Al Ahliyya Amman University and Dean of its Business School and Graduate Studies. Dr. Suwaidan is currently a member of the Higher Council for Regulating the Accounting Profession, the Board of Trustees at Jadara University, and the Investment Board of the Social Security Fund. He also participated in the National Economic Workshop organized by the Royal Hashemite Court. His research focuses on financial statement analysis, corporate disclosure, CSR, and audit quality. Recent work explores the relationship between a firm’s CSR image and capital structure, corporate governance and audit delay, and the impact of CSR on financing costs. He is also co-author of a book on accounting for partnerships and corporations.
