Prof. Mahmoud DarAssi

Prof. Mahmoud DarAssi earned his BSc in Mathematics from Hashemite University in 2000, graduating first in his class, followed by an MSc in Mathematics from the University of Jordan in 2002. He served as a lecturer in the Department of Mathematics at Hashemite University from 2002 to 2008. In 2011, he obtained an MA in Mathematics from the University of Alabama, where he later completed his PhD in Applied Mathematics in 2014, having worked as a teaching assistant in the Department of Mathematics from 2009 to 2014. Prof. DarAssi joined Princess Sumaya University for Technology in September 2014 as an Assistant Professor, was promoted to Associate Professor in September 2019, and has served as Head of the Department of Basic Sciences since September 2021. In recognition of his academic and research contributions, he was promoted to the rank of Full Professor in October 2024. His research focuses on fluid hydrodynamics, heat transfer, stability analysis, perturbation methods, numerical solutions of ODEs and PDEs, biomathematics, and the modeling of disease and computer virus spread, with multiple peer-reviewed publications in these areas.
