The 13th Edition of the Queen Rania National Entrepreneurship Competition is Now Open for Registration

In collaboration with the iPARK at the Royal Scientific Society and in a strategic partnership with Zain Innovation Campus (ZINC), the Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship at Princess Sumaya University for Technology launched the 13th edition of the Queen Rania National Entrepreneurship Competition (QRNEC) 2023.
The Netherlands embassy in Jordan is sponsoring this year’s (Orange Corners) edition of the QRNEC. The Orange Corners initiative incubates young entrepreneurs in over than fifteen countries around the world.
The Orange Corners programme aims to support 40 young Jordanian entrepreneurs who have progressed beyond the idea stage each year. The incubation programme provides young entrepreneurs with training, mentorship, network, funding and facilities to start and grow their businesses.
Prof. Wejdan Abu Al-Haija, President of Princess Sumaya University for Technology, affirmed that the university is committed to provide students with opportunities to present their entrepreneurial ideas and face labor market challenges. Since its establishment on campus, the Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship has been developing and promoting technical entrepreneurship in Jordan by organizing a numerous number of activities that helped thousands of Jordanian-entrepreneurs, professionals and students. As well as bringing some successful Jordanian startups to the innovation and success path.
Prof. Abu Al-Haija continued, the Queen Rania National Entrepreneurship Competition was established to empower entrepreneurs, particularly young people, from all over Jordan in order to promote an entrepreneurial culture and foster entrepreneurial spirit.
Mohammad Obeidat, Director of the Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship, indicated that this year’s competition is focused on technological projects. As it seeks innovative ideas from individuals, research teams, entrepreneurs and also from startups in their early stages of new products and services.
Eng. Sereen Doweiri, incubation manager at iPARK, indicated their commitment to benefit their accumulated experience over more than 15 years to support, motivate, and empower entrepreneurs and startups, as well as encourage them to apply for the competition.
Tariq Al-Bitar, the Executive Director of the Department of Media, Communication, Innovation and Sustainability Management at Zain Jordan, emphasized on the importance of the QRNEC competition in supporting Jordanian innovators and entrepreneurs. Moreover, Mr. Al-Bitar affirmed that this competition inspires every year a new group of Jordanian youth to come up with innovative ideas that contribute to community service and keep up with our modern needs. Furthermore, Mr. Al-Bitar was also pleased with the strategic partnership that brought together the Zain Innovation Platform and the Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship throughout these years, which serves Jordan's entrepreneurship sector and unites efforts to develop it and support youth.
