PSUT President, Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija, met with the Deputy Head of the Jordanian Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission, Mr. Sami Al-Salaita, accompanied by a delegation from the Syrian Central Commission for Inspection and Control (CCIC), headed by its President, Mr. Amer Al-Ali. The visit aimed to review PSUT’s experience and methodology in integrating academic and applied components within its academic programs.
During the meeting, Prof. Abu Elhaija presented PSUT’s vision, educational mission, specialized academic programs, and the achievements of its students and faculty at both the local and international levels. She noted that PSUT’s academic journey is guided by the strategic vision and continuous direction of HRH Sumaya bint El Hassan, Chair of the Board of Trustees, focusing on developing advanced academic programs based on the integration of theoretical knowledge and practical application, building national and international partnerships, keeping pace with evolving labor market demands, and enhancing academic cooperation and the exchange of expertise between universities and oversight institutions in accordance with principles of integrity and institutional governance.
For his part, Mr. Sami Al-Salaita emphasized the importance of exchanging expertise between educational and oversight institutions, highlighting the role of universities in promoting values of integrity and transparency through education, training, and capacity building. He praised the pioneering experience of Princess Sumaya University for Technology in this field.
In turn, Mr. Amer Al-Ali, President of the Syrian Central Commission for Inspection and Control, stated that PSUT is a well-established and leading institution that has graduated pioneers at the global level, becoming a source of advancement in civilization and technology.
He also expressed his interest in benefiting from PSUT’s expertise and approach, particularly in the fields of digital transformation and artificial intelligence, and in transferring this experience to the Syrian Central Commission for Inspection and Control.
Mr. Al-Ali further expressed his appreciation for the efforts of Jordan, its leadership, government, and people, in supporting the Syrian Arab Republic. He noted that the visit comes within the framework of strengthening joint cooperation in the areas of transparency and anti-corruption, benefiting from Jordan’s leading experience, and transferring institutional knowledge and expertise.
During the meeting, Prof. Mohammad Al Nabhan delivered a presentation on PSUT’s mechanisms for developing academic programs and linking them to practical application, highlighting examples of projects that enhance digital sovereignty.
The Syrian delegation included the Deputy Head of the Commission, Mr. Ahmad Al-Shallash; the Director of the Higher Institute for Inspection and Control, Mr. Ali Suleiman; the Director of International Cooperation, Mr. Mohammad Al-Atwi; and the Director of Training and Qualification, Mr. Zakaria Boulos.
The meeting was attended by members of PSUT’s Council of Deans and a number of concerned and specialized faculty members.
