Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) and the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission (IACC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at strengthening joint cooperation in the areas of capacity building, exchange of expertise, and the deployment of modern technologies to support the integrity and good governance framework, as well as enhancing cybersecurity and protecting digital infrastructure.
The memorandum was signed on behalf of PSUT President, Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija, and on behalf of the Commission by its Chairman, Dr. Muhannad Hijazi, in the presence of representatives from both parties.
In implementation of the Royal directives calling for unified and integrated national efforts to strengthen the integrity system and combat corruption, both parties emphasized the importance of employing artificial intelligence, data analytics, and digital evidence within the frameworks of integrity and good governance. This approach aims to advance prevention and oversight tools and enhance institutional performance efficiency.
Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija stated that the signing of the memorandum reflects PSUT’s national commitment to supporting integrity and sound governance, and to linking educational and research outcomes with the needs of national institutions, in alignment with the vision of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, Chair of the University’s Board of Trustees, to empower national youth competencies and promote good governance.
She further noted that PSUT is actively integrating advanced technologies—particularly artificial intelligence and data analytics—to prepare national talents capable of safeguarding the digital space and strengthening institutional integrity.
For his part, Dr. Muhannad Hijazi expressed his pride in Princess Sumaya University for Technology, which enjoys a distinguished international standing and plays a leading role in scientific and technological research.
He emphasized that this partnership represents a model of integration between the academic sector and oversight bodies. The memorandum will contribute to building the Commission’s staff capacities, developing prevention and early detection tools to combat corruption and address vulnerabilities, and strengthening reliance on digital evidence and modern technologies in enforcing integrity and transparency policies.
The memorandum also aims to implement specialized training programs in big data analytics, artificial intelligence, and digital evidence, in addition to supporting scientific research, graduation projects, and applied studies in the fields of integrity, transparency, and corruption prevention. It further includes organizing joint awareness programs, lectures, conferences, and scientific seminars in service of the integrity and anti-corruption system.
