The faculty members are experts in their teaching areas and engaged in research activities.

The Department of Computer Engineering offers two Bachelor's programs:

Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Computer Engineering (an ABET-accredited degree program)

Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Networks and Information Security Engineering (an ABET-accredited degree program)

In addition to the strong theoretical background, the two programs offer many hands-on and laboratory-based courses.

The department has many teaching and research labs equipped to assist students with coursework, projects, and research. The study plans for both of our programs consist of 160 credit hours that include theoretical and practical courses in addition to a senior design project and field training. Both programs accept students who succeed in attaining a minimum average of 80% in their General Secondary School Exam / Science Stream or equivalent qualification.

Department Council

Each of the university's academic departments has its own council consisting of the academic staff of the department of the rank of instructor and above. The councils hold regular meetings chaired by the head of the department to discuss department-related issues such as academic programs, teaching methods, learning resources, course offerings, and student registration.

The Department Council also provides advice to the chairperson of the department on such issues as:

1. Proposals for new courses
2. Academic assessments
3. Teaching and learning issues within the department
