Princess Sumaya University for Technology clinched the top spot in the Jordanian Universities Badminton Championship for male students, both in individual and team categories. The championship, organized by the Sports Federation of Jordan Universities in collaboration with the Jordan Badminton Federation, saw participation from 20 universities at the Sports Activity Department hall, Jordan University of Science and Technology.
Princess Sumaya University for Technology claimed the title by defeating the team from Jordan University, which secured second place. Jordan University of Science and Technology and Hashemite University shared the third place.
In the singles category, student Qusay Zawahra from Princess Sumaya University for Technology won first place, defeating Karam Assila from the University of Jordan, who came in second place, in the final match. Saif Abu Eid from Hashemite University and Ayoub Ababna from Yarmouk University shared the third spot.
Professor Wejdan Abu Elhaija, the university's President, extended congratulations to the winning students and their supervisor for this remarkable achievement. Abu Elhaija also recognized the support from HRH Princess Sumaya bint El-Hassan, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, for sports and student activities.
Dr. Rami Salem, the Dean of Student Affairs, expressed pride in these sports accomplishments, highlighting the university's commitment to fostering both academic excellence and athletic achievements, supported by the Department of Sports Activities in the Deanship.
