Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) and the Audit Bureau of Jordan have signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance cooperation in mutual training and joint research projects related to information technology and auditing.
Following the signing, Audit Bureau President Dr. Radhi Al Hamadeen emphasized that the Bureau's recent strategic plan aims to establish partnerships with academic institutions and professional organizations in auditing. He noted that the Bureau is transitioning to methodologies that prioritize technology and enhance the internal audit systems of entities under its oversight, serving as a crucial safeguard for their assets.
Dr. Al Hamadeen highlighted that the memorandum strengthens the relationship between PSUT and the Audit Bureau by facilitating training workshops, scientific seminars, joint research projects, and providing training opportunities for PSUT students. This initiative will enrich their practical experience and offer insight into the Bureau’s operations and reporting methods. He also shared information about the Bureau's establishment, its legal framework, and the amendments made to its law since the accession of King Abdullah II to the throne.
The President of the University, Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija, stated that this cooperation reflects the university’s commitment to enhancing collaboration and sharing experiences with national institutions while serving the local community. This aligns with the directives of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, to contribute to technological innovations and support successful career paths linked to the university’s academic programs.
Abu Elhaija confirmed that the agreement's terms will be implemented as soon as possible by appointing liaison officers from both parties to initiate joint programs aimed at achieving the development goals in collaboration with the Audit Bureau.
The memorandum includes establishing mechanisms for cooperation between the two parties in training areas such as accounting, taxes, financial analysis, and information technology. It also encompasses exchanging expertise, providing consultations, and conducting joint training workshops. Additionally, it offers opportunities for university students to train at the Audit Bureau and to hold scientific seminars and workshops in areas of mutual interest.
