Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) has once again affirmed its global distinction as its cybersecurity team qualified to participate in the Collegiate Penetration Testing Competition (CPTC) World Finals, to be held at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in New York, USA, in January 2026.
The qualification follows the team’s first-place victory in the regional rounds for the Middle East, Africa, and Europe, hosted jointly by RIT Dubai and the University of Jordan on Saturday, October 25, 2025.
The CPTC competition simulates real-world penetration testing services as conducted in the professional cybersecurity industry. It is organized by cybersecurity experts from the United States, with only ten university teams from the regional divisions — including those in the Middle East, Africa, and Europe — qualifying for participation. The top team from each regional round advances to the global finals.
The winning and qualifying PSUT team includes students Jana Falah, Ahmad Obeidat, Ziad Al-Sharif, Ayham Al-Sarkhi, Leen Abdullah, Saleh Al-Saheb, Abdullah Dahouk, and Mustafa Al-Kilani, under the supervision of Dr. Mohammad Ababneh.
PSUT President, Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija, expressed her pride in the university’s students who continue to excel and bring recognition to PSUT at both regional and global levels. She commended the team’s exceptional performance and dedication in achieving this distinguished milestone.
Prof. Abu Elhaija reaffirmed the university’s commitment to supporting its students across various scientific and competitive domains by providing the necessary resources and continuously empowering talented and outstanding individuals to achieve further success both locally and internationally. She emphasized that these accomplishments embody the vision of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, Chair of PSUT’s Board of Trustees, for the university and its students to remain a beacon of knowledge and innovation.
