Two teams from the Cybersecurity Club at Princess Sumaya University for Technology clinched first and fifth places in the Penetration Testing Competition, held during the Elite Agents Conference. The event was organized by the IEEE-CS Club at Hashemite University and featured 45 teams from Jordanian universities, including four from PSUT.
The Toasters team, which secured first place, included Mohammed Yaseen, Ahmed Alawneh, Laith Salman, and Hashem Oqaili from the King Hussein School of Computing Sciences. The GL1TCH team, which placed fifth, comprised Abdullah Tarawneh, Salah Al-Din Abu Khalaf, Hashem Rifai, and Omar Diqer from the King Abdullah II School of Engineering.
University President Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija congratulated the students on their achievement, emphasizing that it reflects the university’s commitment to academic and technical excellence. She also reaffirmed the university’s dedication to fostering a learning environment that supports creativity, innovation, and collaboration between its schools, preparing students to tackle modern technical challenges and excel in their fields.
Dr. Firas Al-Ghanem, Dean of the King Hussein School of Computing Sciences, emphasized the importance of these competitions in building students' practical skills and preparing them for technical challenges in cybersecurity.
Dr. Osama Abu Sharkh, Dean of the King Abdullah II School of Engineering, praised the achievement, noting that the Cybersecurity Club helps students learn more about cybersecurity and provides opportunities to compete at local, regional, and international levels.
