Kazakhstan Delegation Visits Princess Sumaya University for Technology to Discuss Collaboration in Technology Fields

President of Princess Sumaya University for Technology, Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija, met with Kazakhstan’s Minister of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aerospace Industry, Zhaslan Madiyev, and his delegation, which included Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Jordan, Talgat Shaldanbay, and several senior officials.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Nabil Fayoumi, Vice President for Technology at the Royal Scientific Society, Eng. Omar Hamarneh, Executive Director of iPARK, representatives from the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Vice President of the University, Prof. Bassam Hammo, Advisor to the President, Prof. Abdul Ghafour Al-Saidi, Assistant to the President, Dr. Adiy Tweissi, and members of the University’s Council of Deans.

University President Prof. Abu Elhaija reviewed the university’s global achievements, highlighting the pioneering programs launched in computer science, engineering, and business technology.

Prof. Abu Elhaija emphasized that these accomplishments were achieved with the ongoing guidance and support of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, whose ambitious vision aims to build a technologically advanced generation capable of facing contemporary challenges and innovating solutions for sustainable development.

Kazakhstani Minister Zhaslan Madiyev stated that this visit follows the recent visit of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Jordan and his meeting with His Majesty King Abdullah II, which helped strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Madiyev also expressed interest in expanding cooperation with the university in the fields of modern technology, artificial intelligence, and drones, which are experiencing rapid growth and development.

The meeting included a discussion of student and faculty projects, highlighting their role in supporting government initiatives in areas such as artificial intelligence, robotics, data science, drones, programming, innovation, and sustainability.

The meeting ended with a shared commitment to enhance future cooperation, promote technological advancement, and boost academic and technological ties between the two countries, in support of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship’s efforts.
