Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija, President of Princess Sumaya University for Technology, opened the 20th Career Day, held as part of the university’s Career Guidance Week and organized by the Deanship of Admissions and Registration. The event aims to highlight students’ abilities, keep them informed about job and training opportunities, and prepare graduating students for the job market in their respective fields.
Sixty companies from the fields of computer science, business technology, and engineering took part in the event, along with the Royal Scientific Society.
Prof. Abu Elhaija, joined by Vice President Prof. Bassam Hammo, Dean of Admissions and Registration Dr. Muhanna Muhanna, and members of the University's Council of Deans, toured the exhibition and met with representatives from many of the participating companies.
Abu Elhaija said that Career Day serves as an important link between university life and the job market. It helps students learn about the skills employers look for, explore job and training opportunities, and better plan their future careers more clearly.
Dean of Admissions and Registration, Dr. Muhanna Muhanna, said that such events help strengthen ties between the university and the job market by building partnerships that offer training and job opportunities for students.
He added that this year saw strong participation from many institutions, which helped increase the number of available training and employment options. This reflects the growing cooperation between the university and employers, and supports the university’s efforts to prepare students for the job market.
