A delegation from the Princess Sumaya University for Technology Student Council represented Jordan at the Student Leader Summit, held over two days at the American University in Cairo. The summit brought together more than 10 Arab universities from nine countries, highlighting the strong reputation of PSUT and its students at the local, regional, and international levels.
The university delegation included students Khaled Mahasneh and Tariq Homsi, who took part in several sessions and workshops on various topics. In addition, students Semaza Rustom and Tala Ayasrah served as judges in multiple debates during the regional championship held at the summit.
University President Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija said that student participation in regional forums allows for the exchange of experiences, helping to share successful ideas in ways that align with the university’ goals. She added that this strengthens student performance, deepens their understanding of regional issues, and highlights the important role of youth in addressing them.
Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Rami Salem said that the Deanship supports this kind of participation because it helps students build their skills and prepare to find scientific and practical solutions.
At the end of the summit, the PSUT student delegation received a commemorative shield from the American University in Cairo, in recognition of the university’s role in supporting youth issues and its contributions to regional forums. Officials from the American University also expressed interest in developing academic and student exchange programs with PSUT in the future.
