Princess Sumaya University for Technology and Jordan Securities Commission (JSC) have signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen cooperation, partnership, and coordination on matters of mutual interest.
The memorandum was signed by University President Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija and JSC Chairman Dr. Adel Bino, in the presence of Vice President Prof. Bassam Hammo, members of the University’s Council of Deans, and several JSC staff members.
JSC Chairman Dr. Adel Bino said the memorandum is part of a project to strengthen cooperation with PSUT by raising students’ awareness of the stock market, related laws, and global practices, and by helping them gain the skills needed to work in capital market institutions. He added that the memorandum also aims to train students and prepare them to become licensed financial brokers.
University President Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija stressed the university’s commitment to working with national capital market institutions on areas of shared interest. She said the university is ready to cooperate in fields such as virtual and digital currencies by including them in Business School students’ curricula, and to offer courses in financial services, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and financial technology.
The memorandum includes holding regular training sessions for students in fields related to financial markets. It also introduces a program that gives students the chance to present new financial ideas, especially in financial technology, and receive support to develop their skills. It also includes cooperation between experts from both sides in technical fields.
The memorandum further supports joint work in training, lectures, and research. It covers co-organizing workshops, seminars, and conferences, and sharing publications and research results.
