El Hassan Library at Princess Sumaya University for Technology, in collaboration with the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) Middle East and North Africa Regional Division, held two workshops presented by Dr. Saif AlJabri, Chair of IFLA’s MENA Regional Division, and Mr. Waleed AlBadi, Director of Majlis Oman Library.
The workshops introduced participants to IFLA, its goals, and the importance of engaging in its activities, projects, and events. They also covered strategies for measuring, evaluating, and demonstrating the impact of library services.
The first workshop, titled “The Role of Directors in Measuring, Evaluating, and Demonstrating the Impact of Library Services,” was attended by library directors from the Center of Excellence in Library Services at Jordanian Private Universities.
The second workshop, titled “Measuring, Evaluating, and Demonstrating the Impact of Library Services,” was attended by staff responsible for user services from the libraries of the University of Jordan, the Ministry of Education, the Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation, the Greater Amman Municipality, and Princess Sumaya University for Technology.
At the end of the event, the President of the University, Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija, honored Dr. Saif AlJabri and Mr. Waleed AlBadi, in the presence of the Vice President, Prof. Bassam Hammo.
