As part of the 17th edition of Global Entrepreneurship Week 2025, the Jordan Breast Cancer Program (JBCP), led by the King Hussein Cancer Foundation and Center, organized the “Future Health Impact Hackathon” in collaboration with the Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship at Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) and the International Youth Ambassadors Foundation. The event saw wide participation from students and individuals interested in innovation and entrepreneurship.
Held over two days at PSUT, the hackathon coincided with the 10th Arab Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the 17th Global Entrepreneurship Week, aiming to enhancing health awareness and inspire students and youth to develop innovative entrepreneurial solutions in women’s health and early breast cancer detection. The event was attended by Prof. Mouhammd Alkasassbeh, Assistant to the President of PSUT, along with several specialists and representatives from participating institutions.
The hackathon sought to provide university students and young innovators with an opportunity to present their entrepreneurial, technical, and social projects—fostering creativity and developing practical solutions based on the JBCP’s two decades of expertise in awareness and early detection.
The program featured a rich lineup of learning opportunities and interactive sessions with prominent experts and mentors in health, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Participants engaged in guidance and mentorship activities that helped refine their ideas and develop their projects.
A total of 400 students from 24 Jordanian universities registered for the hackathon, with 100 participants selected to compete in 17 interdisciplinary teams (medical and non-medical). These teams presented their projects before panels of judges composed of experts in health, innovation, and entrepreneurship. In an atmosphere full of enthusiasm, learning, and youthful energy, the top three winning teams were announced and awarded cash prizes to support the continuation and development of their projects into practical solutions. All participants also received certificates of appreciation.
Organizers emphasized that the hackathon represents a distinguished model of collaboration between health, academic, and entrepreneurial institutions in Jordan, reflecting a national commitment to fostering innovation, empowering youth, and directing their energy toward advancing women’s health and community well-being.
