The President of Princess Sumaya University for Technology, Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija, and the CEO and Director General of the King Hussein Cancer Center, Dr. Asem Mansour, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in teaching, training, research, and consultation. The agreement also focuses on enhancing technical qualifications and training for personnel from both institutions, along with facilitating scientific research and the professional development of medical staff.
The University President, Prof. Abu Elhaija, highlighted that this cooperation aligns with the university’s strategy to broaden its partnerships with local community organizations across diverse sectors. She also emphasized the significance of the medical field due to its critical role in human life and health. The Academic cooperation in medicine aims to apply the latest developments and technologies, directing and implementing them across various medical specialties.
Prof. Abu Elhaija expressed admiration for the partnership and praised the center's achievements, emphasizing its esteemed status as a leading medical institution locally and globally. Prof. Abu Elhaija also affirmed the university's commitment to cooperating for optimal healthcare. This includes leveraging the university’s “Health Information Technology” master's program to enhance the effectiveness of healthcare professionals in Jordan's healthcare sector. Additionally, scholarships will be provided for employees of the center.
Dr. Asem Mansour extended his gratitude to the university for this partnership, emphasizing the importance of enhancing cooperation in scientific research and exchanging experiences to achieve optimal healthcare outcomes. Dr. Asem Mansour also emphasized the significance of medical data in cancer treatment, particularly in the era of precise and targeted medicine. He highlighted its crucial role in keeping pace with the latest advancements in cancer diagnosis and treatment. Officials and stakeholders from both parties attended the signing of the memorandum of understanding.
