Undergraduate Research Program (URP)

In order to realize the University's vision of becoming a globally- connected  regional center of research excellence and to provide highly qualified graduates to the market locally, regionally and globally; King Abdullah I School of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research has devoted a considerable attention to encouraging undergraduate students to engage in research activity at the University. Project-embedded courses have been introduced to the undergraduate programs in all schools in addition to the graduation project, which is becoming a capstone in all our undergraduate programs. Accordingly, King Abdullah I School of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research has established the Undergraduate Research Program (URP). This program aims at supporting the undergraduate students in carrying their graduation projects through providing them with some financial support.

An academic supervisor is appointed by the department to supervise the graduation project of the student or students interested in the same project. The students and the supervisor prepare and write proposal stating the objectives and giving a clear and short description of the project; and identify their needs along with an estimate of the financial support requested. The proposal is submitted to King Abdullah I School of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research for proper action. Students should submit a progress report and a final report showing the preliminary results obtained. Common university research incentives will be applied to the out-come of the project.
