Master's Degree in Power Engineering & Sustainable Energy

The M.Sc. program in Power Engineering & Sustainable Energy is designed to meet the needs of the rapidly evolving technologies in the areas of Smart Grids, Renewable Energy Systems, and Energy Storage.

This program is designed for electrical power engineers who wish to gain more specialized knowledge in the field of power engineering and sustainable energy.  The program provides advanced courses in Power Systems, Power Electronics, and Artificial Intelligence to help engineers keep up with the recent advancements in power grid technologies, including the advancements in renewable energy systems, electric vehicles, and energy storage systems, all of which form the basis for sustainable energy systems, and are expected to form a big part on the Jordanian grid in the near future. It is also flavored with topics in the areas of Applied Machine Learning and Optimization tools to help the easy transition from the traditional power grid operation to the more complex but more advanced Smart Grids.
In addition to advancing their knowledge in the field, this program will help students advance their research and development skills by engaging in research projects with our highly qualified faculty members and writing a Master’s thesis in a chosen research field within the areas of Power Engineering & Sustainable Energy.
This program is designed to equip engineers with the required skills to build and operate highly efficient, reliable, and intelligent power systems, and it is expected to have an impact on the local, regional, and international markets as it prepares our engineers to pursue opportunities both in Jordan and abroad.
