In a joint effort to strengthen partnerships between academia and the industrial and commercial sectors, Princess Sumaya University for Technology, represented by its President, Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija, and JoPetrol, represented by its Director-General, Eng. Khaled Al-Zoubi, have signed a memorandum of understanding. The agreement aims to promote collaboration in student training, employment, and joint projects.

Prof. Abu Elhaija highlighted the university’s commitment to building partnerships with industry and sharing expertise to serve local and international communities. She noted that this cooperation aligns with the directives of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, emphasizing the importance of academic-industry collaboration and developing programs that meet market needs. The partnership is intended to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical application, contributing to sustainable development and societal progress.

Eng. Al-Zoubi underscored the importance of linking industry with academia to address current challenges through innovative solutions developed by students and faculty. He emphasized that this initiative, part of JoPetrol’s commitment to social responsibility, will help prepare students for the job market and support the local economy. He also praised the skills of PSUT students and the university’s international reputation.

The signing of the MoU was attended by a number of school deans and professors, the Director of the International Relations Unit at the university, and JOPetrol managers.
