The IEEE Student Club at Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) has won the 2024 Best Student Branch in IEEE Region 8, covering the Middle East, Europe, and Africa. The award recognizes the club's exceptional contributions and alignment with the IEEE mission, showcasing its leadership and innovation.
University President Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija congratulated the club members, their academic supervisor Prof. Fadi Shahrouri, and administrative supervisor Manar Shraideh for their collaborative efforts in achieving this success. She highlighted that the award reflects the creativity and excellence of PSUT students and underscores the value of curricular and extracurricular activities in preparing students for the job market.
Prof. Shahrouri emphasized the university’s advanced technical resources and support, ensuring students stay ahead in global technological advancements. He noted that the Engineering School ensures its labs are equipped with the latest technology.
Dr. Rami Salem, Dean of Student Affairs, reaffirmed the Deanship’s commitment to providing financial and administrative support to help students excel and enhance their university experience.
Club President Yusra Hassan credited the award to years of dedicated effort by club members, saying it shows their ability to represent PSUT at both local and international levels.
