Two teams from Princess Sumaya University for Technology won first and fourth place in the ninth Arab Cybersecurity Wargames, held during the Arab Security Conference in Cairo, Egypt.
The first team, consisting of Ahmad Obeidat, Hamza Noor, Yousef Nahya, Basil Tahboub, and Ziad Sharif, under the supervision of Dr. Mohammed Ababneh, clinched first place and the gold medal.
The second team, consisting of Hamza Abdul Mahdi, Ahmad Alawneh, Mohannad Hamoud, Mohammad Yassin, and Hashem Aqili, secured fourth place.
University President Professor Wejdan Abu Elhaija expressed pride in the achievement of the students, who won first and fourth place in the Arab Cybersecurity Wargames 2025, one of the leading regional competitions in the field.
Prof. Abu Elhaija praised the students’ performance in the qualifying stages, noting that the two teams represented Jordan after a competition that brought together 2,047 players in 426 teams from 25 countries. Out of these, only 10 teams reached the finals.
Dr. Mohammad Ababneh, Head of the Cybersecurity Department and Supervisor of the Cybersecurity Club, praised the students’ performance and dedication. Ababneh thanked the university administration for supporting the teams and encouraging both students and faculty. He also stressed that the achievement reflects the advanced level of the university’s students in cybersecurity.
