Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT), the academic partner of the event, took part in the C8 2025 Conference and Exhibition on Advancement, Innovation, and Technology in Cybersecurity, held under the patronage of HRH Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, and in the presence of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, President of the Royal Scientific Society and Chair of PSUT’s Board of Trustees.
During his tour, accompanied by HRH Princess Sumaya, His Royal Highness viewed the various exhibition pavilions that highlighted the key components of Jordan’s national cybersecurity ecosystem and its ongoing development across multiple fields.
HRH Princess Sumaya visited the university’s pavilion, accompanied by H.E. Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Eng. Sami Smeirat, Chairman of National Cybersecurity Council H.E. Ihab Hinnawi, and Director of National Cybersecurity Center Eng. Mohammad Al-Samadi. Her Royal Highness met with participating PSUT students and reviewed their innovative projects in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and drone technology, praising their continued efforts in supporting and strengthening Jordan’s cybersecurity landscape.
The university’s pavilion also welcomed several senior officials, experts, and stakeholders from both local and international institutions.
PSUT President Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija led the university’s participation in the three-day exhibition, held at the King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Center – Dead Sea, with active engagement from students and faculty members.
PSUT participated in the conference by showcasing a group of innovative projects developed in its laboratories, reaffirming the university’s role as a leading center for knowledge creation and for enhancing the technical and engineering capabilities of young people.
The university’s team presented three advanced drone models: SkyLens, designed for imaging and reconnaissance missions, and SkyDrop, intended for delivery and transport applications; and Failaq, a coordinated drone-swarm system designed for entertainment shows.
Students also showcased Echo Face, an AI-powered system capable of analyzing facial features and identifying individuals within vast archives of photos and video recordings within seconds, providing significant value for security and investigative operations.
The exhibition further highlighted RedCloud, an AI-enabled cloud service that deploys fully integrated penetration-testing environments within seconds, providing cybersecurity specialists with a fast, flexible platform without complex configurations or specialized equipment.
Another student project, “Fanar”, demonstrated a practical model for portable renewable-energy solutions that convert solar power into an independent electricity source suitable for remote and isolated environments, supporting field hospitals, emergency operations, and rescue efforts.
PSUT students also contributed to drafting the questions for the third edition of the international Armython competition, held during the conference to assess advanced digital defense capabilities in a highly competitive setting. The competition included 37 teams from 28 countries, with two additional countries participating as observers.
This participation reflects the university’s commitment to empowering its students to develop practical technological solutions while enhancing their skills in design, innovation, and collaborative work.
