PSUT President Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija received H.E. Mr. Bernard Lynch, the Australian Ambassador to Jordan, during his visit to the university. The meeting was attended by Prof. Abdul Ghafoor Al-Saidi, Advisor to the President of the University for Student Empowerment and Retention, Dr. Sufyan Almajali, Director of the Office of External Relations, and a number of university officials.
Prof. Abu Elhaija highlighted the significance of academic and research cooperation between PSUT and Australian universities, highlighting the need to exchange expertise and knowledge in line with the vision of Her Royal Highness Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, Chair of the University’s Board of Trustees, to advance education and foster academic integration among educational and research institutions worldwide.
Ambassador Lynch expressed his admiration for the university’s remarkable achievements and its efforts to enhance education and scientific research. He commended HRH Princess Sumaya for her pivotal role in supporting academic excellence and strengthening Jordan’s position as a regional hub for knowledge and technology.
The Ambassador also underscored the deep friendship between the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and Australia across various fields, affirming that the Australian Embassy is committed to strengthening bilateral relations at all levels and in all sectors.
During his visit, Ambassador Lynch met with a group of PSUT students, engaging in an open discussion about academic exchange opportunities between PSUT and Australian universities. He responded to students’ inquiries regarding scholarship programs, research collaboration, and opportunities to pursue studies at Australian academic institutions. He reaffirmed his country’s commitment to fostering strong academic connections between Jordanian and Australian youth.
