The specialized training program in Data Science and AI concluded at Princess Sumaya University for Technology, supported by the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority and the Aqaba Governorate Council, in cooperation with the Consultation and Training Center at the university.
The program targeted students and graduates from Aqaba Governorate, aiming to empower youth by providing them with IT skills, which helps improve their job opportunities in this vital sector.
The closing ceremony was attended by Ramzi Al-Kabariti, Commissioner of Youth and Entrepreneurship at the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority; Emad Amro, Aqaba Governorate Council Member; Dr. Ammar Odeh, Director of the Consultation and Training Center at PSUT; Rima Tabbaa, Head of Entrepreneurial Projects at the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority; and representatives from participating companies, including Orange, AppTrainer, SMT Center, along with the participating students.
The five-day training program included field visits to companies in Amman specializing in data science and AI, exposing Aqaba Governorate participants to the latest technologies. Dr. Ammar Odeh, welcomed attendees at the closing ceremony, highlighting this cooperation as a reflection of the university's commitment to enhancing social responsibility. He emphasized the program's role in empowering youth and developing their skills in line with the latest global technological advancements, preparing them for the changing labor market. Dr. Odeh also highlighted success stories of PSUT alumni excelling across various sectors, emphasizing the university's achievements under the guidance of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees.
Al-Kabariti emphasized the significance of collaboration among the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, the Aqaba Governorate Council, and PSUT in offering ongoing support to youth while promoting entrepreneurship, innovation, and creativity. Moreover, Emad Amro highlighted the importance of the training provided to young men and women in Aqaba, noting that it enhances their capabilities in scientific research and empowers them in advanced technology fields.
During the closing ceremony, the President of PSUT, Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija, met with representatives of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority and the Aqaba Governorate Council to discuss future cooperation and establish strategic partnerships for developing young people's skills aligned with local and international market needs.
At the end of the ceremony, participants received certificates and hoped this experience would lead to further success in their studies.
