Software Engineering Club

Founded in 2021, this is a specialized club for students and technology enthusiasts. The club includes modern technological departments: Robotics Department, Missile Department, Programming Department, Project Implementation and Development Department, Crown Prince Award Department, and Activities Department. These departments work in harmony to develop students’ skills and teach them how to solve problems and deal with technological developments.

The club’s activities and achievements:

  • 8/5/2021 – The club organized the Success Conference, where leadership expert Amal Al-Saadi addressed the jobs and requirements of the future, the latest programming languages in use and the most recent developments, how to make clear plans for the future, and how to best apply for jobs.
  • Starting on 11/5/2021 – The club organized a three-day training workshop to explain the EV3 robots, where students were introduced to the components, sensors, and parts of the robots.
  • 9/5/2021 – The club began to seek out students who have experience in programming applications to help them to form creative ideas, assist them in programming, and distribute them into teams in preparation for the Crown Prince Award.
  • 9/5/2021 – 25 club members hosted students from the University of Sheffield (UK) in order to start the preliminary preparations and plans to start work on the missile launch competition that will be held in the USA.
  • 19/5/2021 – The club organized a meeting for PSUT students to discuss entrepreneurial projects. They began working on and developing their projects to ensure their success and sustainability.
  • 4/5/2021 – The club organized a training course in the C programming language to give students a better understanding of it and enable them to use it to solve many external questions.
  • 12/3/2021 - A 15-day course began to teach students the Python programming language from scratch and enable them to program in it.

  • Saturday, 26/6/2021 - A training course began for PSUT students. The course addressed the most important programming language used in programming cell phone applications, which is Flutter Programming Language. Sessions were held via Zoom, every Saturday, Monday, and Wednesday, from 7:00 – 8:00 pm for a full month. More than 150 students attended the first training session.

The course addressed the following topics:

  • Get started, Types of Widget, MaterialApp, Scaffold, App bar, Center, Text + TextStyle, Button
  • Row, Column, Container + Margin + Padding, Textfield + Text Controller, SingleChildScroll

  • 25/9/2021 – The club organized Jordan University's Sumo Tournament for combat robots. More than 25 teams from various Jordanian universities participated in the competition, which was the first of its kind to be held in the last five years.
  • The club organized a summer camp, held via Zoom, to teach orphaned school students about technological skills.
  • Members drew and planned murals to be painted in the camps to promote hygiene, learning and education.
  • The club announced the TECH TALKS segment, which was held weekly throughout the semester.
  • 17/8/2021 – The club organized a joint activity with the alzayzafon charitable Society for Orphaned and Poor Children, aimed at raising awareness among children about hygiene and protecting wider society from the Coronavirus by painting murals and drawing educational posters.
  • The team  participated in the JSBC competition, which was held at the University of Jordan where our team competed against more than 30 teams from different Jordanian universities for the best new technology entrepreneurial projects.
  • The club organized a workshop under the title ‘3D Printer’, which explained how the printer works and how to design 3D models on 3D design programs and then print them using the printer.
