The Center of Excellence for Library Services was established during the academic year 2020/2021 by a decision of the Board of Trustees of Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT), to become the first center of its kind in the Arab world and the region at the level of private universities. It represents a pioneering qualitative step toward cooperation and collaborative work among universities, aiming to unify work mechanisms and tools in accordance with local and international professional library standards. The Center is part of  PSUT and includes sixteen universities, namely: PSUT, Amman Arab University, Philadelphia University, Isra University, Irbid National University, Jerash University, Middle East University, Petra University, The World Islamic Sciences and Education University, Applied Science Private University, Zarqa University, Amman Al-Ahliyya University, Al Hussein Technical University, Luminus Technical University College, and Jadara University, American University of Madaba (AUM).
