The Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship at Princess Sumaya University for Technology announced a strategic partnership, for the second consecutive year, with the Umniah Business Incubator "The Tank". The partners are holding the twelfth Global Entrepreneurship Week 2020, Jordan, with the aim of attracting entrepreneurs to attend workshops, seminars and discussions on entrepreneurship issues, and to give them the opportunity to network with each other.
The Director of QRCE, Mohammed Obaidat, emphasized that the partnership springs from the belief in the necessity of cooperation between the institutions of Jordan’s entrepreneurship system, and is based on the two parties' efforts to enhance the innovation environment and develop technological products, expand young people’s knowledge horizons and hone their skills.
Obaidat added that the Center organizes, within the Week’s activities, the Jordanian University Students competition, pointing out that their participation stimulates their ambition to become future entrepreneurs. This reflects the Center's endeavors to achieve sustainable development and economy.
Umniah’s Corporate Communications Manager, Nicole Shahin, expressed her pride in the partnership, saying, "Over the course of twelve years, Entrepreneurship Week has established a pioneering platform to stimulate and develop the entrepreneurial spirit of ambitious Jordanian youth." She affirmed that it is also an important occasion to introduce entrepreneurship, which is one of the important strategies for achieving development, economic growth and sustainable development in society.
The Week, which sees the participation of over 170 countries, aims to provide emerging entrepreneurs with the tools and knowledge they need to grow, opens the dialogue on SME start-up experiences, and invites successful entrepreneurs to enhance awareness of the rewards of entrepreneurship.
The week will witness many activities aimed at supporting the sector of small and medium enterprises and entrepreneurs, in a number of different locations, in ways which are safe and ensure adherence to public safety measures in light of the current circumstances.
