Princess Sumaya University for Technology has taken the top place among all public and private universities in the University Proficiency Exam, which is administered by the Higher Education Accreditation Commission to ensure the standard of students on the verge of graduation from Jordanian universities. It is a matter of great pleasure and pride that this is the fourth consecutive year in which the University holds this position.
HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, Chair of PSUT’s Board of Trustees, congratulated the University's administration, faculty members, administrative staff and students on this outstanding achievement. She indicated that the University’s status as the leader in this exam is evidence that it is graduating outstanding students, capable of supporting both the local and international labor markets. Such graduates represent a generation of socially aware and innovative young people who have faith in their homeland and nation.
PSUT’s President, Prof. Mashhoor Al-Refai, also congratulated the University's family of academic and administrative staff and its students for this remarkable success, and for their determination to emerge as leaders in the results of the Proficiency Exam, thus continuing the story of excellent and distinguished achievements. He also thanked the deans of the Schools concerned, the Director of the Quality Assurance Center Dr. George Samour, the Center’s staff, the heads of the academic departments, the students and all those who contributed to this new achievement.
Princess Sumaya University for Technology is distinguished among Jordanian universities as the only one to carry out an acceptance exam in all disciplines in order to attract outstanding students, as is the practice at the best international universities. PSUT offers unique specializations, maintains excellence in scientific and research fields, and works to inspire creativity and innovation among its students, as well as providing the local, regional and global markets with a high standard of academic and technical capabilities. The University focuses on international programs and joint programs, in which regard it is linked with a number of international and local universities. The University has also obtained international ABET accreditation for four of its Engineering programs, and Computer Science.
President Mashhoor Al-Refai pointed out that PSUT has managed to maintain an excellent standard in this exam since 2004, coming in first place in 2005 and 2006, and taking the crown for this year as the top Jordanian university at the general level, repeating its success from the 2017/2018 academic year, when it also ranked first in the subject level for 82% of its programs.
