HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, Chair of Princess Sumaya University for Technology’s Board of Trustees, has granted a full scholarship to PSUT graduate Yazan Yassin to enable him to complete a Master’s degree. Yassin graduated top of his specialization of Electrical Power and Energy Engineering, as well as being the top-scoring student across the board of the University’s specializations with an average of 94.2%.
Yassin has undergone training at the National Center for Energy Research at the Royal Scientific Society on solar energy and solar systems. He also received backing from the King Abdullah II Fund for Development (KAFD) for his graduation project, Power Load Bank, which he completed under the supervision of Dr. Ayman Faza.
Her Highness provided a scholarship at her own expense to help Yassin to complete his undergraduate education at PSUT after he obtained a score of 93.7% in the General Secondary Certificate Examination (Tawjihi) in 2014 and a local news site wrote about his difficult financial situation.
Her Highness's initiative comes from her conviction that such students are the leaders and smart entrepreneurs of the future, and that they need our support to help them gain the appropriate qualifications that will make them distinguished and capable of keeping up with world developments in knowledge and technology. The Princess believes that unfortunate economic circumstances should not pose a stumbling block on the path of achieving their dreams and aspirations.
