The President of Princess Sumaya University for Technology, Prof. Mashhoor Al-Refai, received a student and administrative delegation from the University of Hasselt, Belgium. The meeting reflects the University's policy of opening up the horizons for dialogue among young people worldwide and building international partnerships aimed at helping young people to reach positions of leadership.
Prof. Al-Refai said that the visiting delegation of 22 students and 4 administrative staff from the University of Hasselt will spend two weeks at PSUT, during which time the students will participate in courses in Arabic language and Jordanian culture. In addition, they will follow a program of visits organized by the Department of Press and Public Relations at the University, to the most prominent archaeological and tourist areas in Jordan.
The Belgian University of Hasselt is one of the world’s strongest and most important universities. It enjoys a strong relationship with PSUT and the two parties have built up a research network through which faculty members can publish joint scientific research. The two universities also share joint supervision of Master's and Doctoral theses in accordance with cooperation agreements that provide for the introduction of Master's programs in Management Information Systems, International Marketing Strategies, and Innovation Management. Ten grants are also available to Master’s students in various Business disciplines to study a semester at the University of Hasselt, in addition to ten scholarships for undergraduate students in the disciplines of Management Information Systems, Accounting, Business Administration and e-Marketing to spend a semester at the Belgian university. The agreements also cover cultural exchange programs for students, staff and faculty members of the two universities.
