Dr. Al-Saghir affirmed that this MoU between the two universities would open the door to increased cooperation between Arab universities, enhance the exchange of academic experiences within the Arab world, and contribute to the advancement of the teaching and learning process. He went on to praise the excellent reputation of PSUT and its students, at the regional and international levels, in the fields of IT, Engineering and Business.

Ajman University was established in 1988 as a private institution of higher education, adopting a system which is non-traditional within the UAE and Arab world. In 1988, His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, member of the Supreme Council and ruler of Ajman, issued an Amiri Decree establishing the Ajman University College of Science and Technology. In 1997, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research decided to change it to Ajman University of Science and Technology, and in 2016 the Board of Trustees of the University approved changing its name to Ajman University.
