The President of Princess Sumaya University for Technology, Prof. Mashhoor Al-Refai, alongside the Director General of the National Library, Prof. Nidal Al-Ayasrah, opened the national book and picture exhibition, organized by the State Centennial Committee and held at PSUT in cooperation with the National Library.
Al-Refai said that this is the first in a series of major events that PSUT is preparing to celebrate the centenary of the state, and that the exhibition reflects the renaissance and development of the Jordanian state through its most important milestones such as independence, the Battle of Karameh, and the occasion of His Majesty King Abdullah II assuming his constitutional powers.
Al-Refai added that PSUT, under the guidance of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, Chair of its Board of Trustees, is working to ensure that its celebrations on this occasion are qualitative and varied, to give its students a strong foundation for receiving the supreme values on which the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan was founded.
Prof. Al-Ayasrah expressed his happiness at the joint cooperation with the University, praising its role and outstanding status at both the local and international levels. He highlighted the fact that such events give students a more detailed picture of how their state was founded, its strengths and its glorious days.
The official in charge of the event, Dr. Shadi Hamidat, said that the exhibition will be turned into a digital exhibition to be broadcast to students on the various university platforms, and that it will be available to all.
PSUT has formed a centennial committee, headed by the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Rami Salem, and is about to stage major celebrations early next month, including a national forum on the technological renaissance and its stages of development in the Jordanian state.
