A delegation from Purdue University in the USA visited Princess Sumaya University for Technology to discuss the possibility of establishing a national research center specializing in cyber security, with joint management and expertise between the two universities. The parties discussed the exchange of teaching experiences, and the signing of an academic cooperation agreement that will provide the opportunity to conduct joint research and establish teaching visits, as well as enabling both undergraduate and postgraduate students to benefit from an exchange program in Engineering and IT fields.
At a meeting attended by the Deans of the King Abdullah II School of Engineering and the King Hussein School of Computing Sciences, the heads of academic departments, and the Director of the Office of International Relations, PSUT’s President, Prof. Mashhoor Al-Refai, reviewed the University’s most notable achievements, its aspirations for the future, its academic programs, and the international partnerships that it has established with major international institutions and universities. He also talked about the progress made by the University in the field of scientific research, and its tireless efforts in international networking due to the academic and practical benefits that are reflected in the University’s results.
The delegation included the Director of the Office of Corporate and Global Partnerships, Prof. Daniel Hermelin and the Managing Director of the Center for Education and Research in Information Assurance and Security (CERIAS) at Purdue, Dr. Joel Rasmus, who gave a presentation about the university, its most important achievements and research centers. He also offered examples of its unique relationships with various economic sectors, as well as expressing his admiration for PSUT’s excellence and its singular achievements.
Notably, Purdue University, founded in 1869 and located at West Lafayette in Indiana, is considered one of the top American universities in the fields of Engineering and Cyber Security. It grants undergraduate degrees in more than 400 academic fields through its various faculties, which include Agriculture, Consumer Science, Education, Engineering, Health Sciences, Liberal Arts, Management, Nursing, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Sciences, Technology, and Veterinary Medicine.
