The Youth Volunteer Club at Princess Sumaya University for Technology organized a voluntary charity campaign entitled "Your Happiness is in Our Hands", aimed at providing winter clothes for Yajouz Elementary School students.
The campaign ran for one week at the University campus, and after obtaining the clothes, the team made a visit to the school. The team was headed by the Vice President of the University Prof. Arafat Awajan, who was accompanied by the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Rami Salem, and Mrs. Manar Al-Shraideh, the Officer for Cultural Activities and Student Clubs. The gifts were presented to the schoolchildren in an atmosphere of warmth and love. The University also provided a drinking water cooler as a gift to the school.
Awajan noted that the campaign comes in line with the University’s leanings toward assuming social responsibility and working to develop the local community, encouraging a positive attitude in dealing with its issues. He also pointed out that, in order to protect the children’s feelings, they were made to understand that the gift was given to them as a reward because they are outstanding and are making great progress in their studies.
The Dean of Student Affairs made it clear that the campaign will continue as a regular annual event into the future, and will work to serve all neighboring schools that are in need of help and assistance.
