Belal H. Sababha, Ph.D. is the Associate Executive Dean of the Engineering Technology & Science Division at the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT), UAE since September 2017 (On a Leave from PSUT). Before joining HCT, Dr. Sababha served as the Dean of King Abdullah II School of Engineering and as an Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT), Jordan. Prior moving to academia, Dr. Sababha was in the Automotive Industry. He worked as a Senior Controls Engineer in the Powertrain Controls department at Chrysler Group LLC, Michigan USA. Belal received his PhD degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering – Embedded Systems from Oakland University, MI, USA in 2011. He has taught electrical and computer engineering undergrad and grad courses at various universities in the US and Jordan. Dr. Sababha has extensive experience in embedded systems design, control algorithm design and software development with applications related to Gasoline Engine Controls and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). He is a consultant in the fields of Embedded Systems and UAV design and control for various governmental and commercial firms. His research concentration areas are UAV development and control, Biomedical instrumentation, embedded sensors, embedded RTOS and CAN networks, distributed embedded systems, graceful degradation in embedded systems, rapid prototyping, and machine vision. Dr. Sababha has published more than thirty scientific contributions in forms of Journal Articles, Conference Papers and Patents. Moreover, in addition to being an Associate Executive Dean and Dean, he has served several years in various management positions as: Computer Engineering Department chairman, Computer and Training Center Director, Online Exams Unit Director. He is an IEEE Senior member and a member of IEEE-RAS, ASME, AIAA and JEA.
