President of PSUT honors University students who combine work and study
The President of Princess Sumaya University for Technology, Prof. Mashhoor Al-Refai, honored those students at the University who combine study and work and manage to maintain high academic standards.
President Prof. Mashhoor Al-Refai expressed his admiration for these students, saying that their outstanding efforts to succeed as they combine study and work are extraordinary and work towards stamping out ‘the culture of shame’. They started work while they were still in full-time education and strengthened the academic aspect with practical experience.
Prof. Al-Refai presented medals of excellence to the working students in recognition of their efforts to continue their academic studies despite all the burdens and pressures that accompany work and social commitments. The giving of these honors reflects the vision of Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, Chair of the University’s Board of Trustees, to support and strengthen the role of young people and to provide ongoing motivation to strive for excellence and innovation.
It is noteworthy that the rate for PSUT students finding employment within the first six months after graduation has reached 89%. Furthermore, nearly 20% of the University’s students in some disciplines have secured a position prior to graduation.
